I love my crime books dirty and gritty and Karin Slaughter gave that to me so kudos to that. I love a good mystery that confirms your suspicions early and allows you to sit back and enjoy the ride while the characters play catch up.
And let me tell you, they are definitely excited men in a pool. Probably not but that is the beauty of Goodreads. But another player has entered the game: In the end it was a choice that made all the difference. Tangled within this mystery is the man that has me intrigued. He is finally given his freedom back only to be faced with the fear of someone toying with that freedom. Unfortunately, view spoiler [I hear she isn’t going away anytime soon.
Karin Slaughter puts so much care in her characters – villains included – that even though you want them to burn, you don’t want them to get caught in some two-pages scene and call it a day: He’s the type of character that needs to have a second chance.
He reluctantly accepts the help of Will Trent, an agent with the Special Criminal Apprehension Team who has been assigned to solve the case. My goodness the gorey scenes in this book is amazing. Overall this first book in the series has roped me in and waiting impatiently in line at the library for the next book in the series. Any misstep can send him back to a cell.
Maybe it was college. I could also easily identify the killer even before I reached the second half. All of these fucktards are in my shit list. Then we meet Michael Ormewood working long hours and getting paid far too little by the Atlanta Police Department.
I want to know more of his suffering, his struggles, and how he feeds cheese to the ugly dog he inherited. It was excellently written and the story very layered. I mean she even throws in small, delightful ties ttriptych something as simple as how a dog came to slaugter named Betty.
These issues add layers of conflict and controversy to the already complicated murder investigation. Triptych was a gritty and complex mystery. I started it yesterday morning and just had to finish last night when really I should have been asleep.
And if you This, Triptych, is as close to man-fiction as a book written by a woman can get. The setting is Atlanta, Georgia.
Don’t read it if you have manly bits and are particularly sensitive, I can’t guarantee there won’t be trauma. John Shelley I actually feel sorry slaughtfr this dude.
